– Mayer & Cie. is back. The future of the brand has been secured, and the company is returning to the market with renewed strength, a clear focus on customer needs, and a strong commitment to reliability.
Closing completed – Mayer & Cie. Global starts business operations
Germany, April 16, 2026 – The future of the Mayer & Cie. brand has been secured: Following the successful completion of the purchase agreement for assets in the circular knitting machinery segment of the German traditional company Mayer & Cie., which was signed in February this year, the brand will continue to exist. The transfer of these assets to the new owner, Xu Hongjie, was formally completed yesterday afternoon. This clears the way for the resumption of business operations at the Albstadt site.
Mayer & Cie. files for insolvency under self-administration
On 23 September 2025, Mayer & Cie., a manufacturer of circular knitting and braiding machines in Albstadt, filed an application for the opening of insolvency proceedings in self-administration at the Hechingen District Court.
Mayer & Cie. participates in ITMA Asia 2025: “Performance line”, new jacquard machine and smart solutions
Mayer & Cie. will participate in ITMA Asia from October 28 to 31, 2025, which takes place in Singapore. Visitors will find the manufacturer of circular knitting machines and braiding machines in Hall 5, Stand D 301.
Mayer & Cie. Expands its Braiding Portfolio again – Successful Development and Production at Headquarters
And another one: Mayer & Cie. just sent off the second braiding machine equipped with 48 carriers. It needed a forklift designed for especially heavy loads to put the braiding head onto the truck. For Mayer & Cie., this marks a milestone in the evolution of the braiding unit of the company.
Mayer & Cie. Celebrates Anniversary – 120 Years of Textile Machinery from Albstadt
On July 8, 2025 Mayer & Cie. celebrates its 120th anniversary. The company, now in its fourth generation of family ownership, specializes in the production and sale of circular knitting and braiding machines.
Sales start of Mayer & Cie.’s new machine control system: Control 5.0 makes circular knitting machines IoT-ready
The new machine control system Control 5.0 is now available. It makes from Mayer & Cie. circular knitting machines Internet- and knitlink-ready, preparing them for the digital future of textile production.
Control 5.0 is the prerequisite for accessing knitlink, Mayer & Cie.’s digital platform. The new machine control system is available as an upgrade kit for all machines built from 2001 onward. From now on, every newly delivered mechanical circular knitting machine will be equipped with Control 5.0 as standard. Electronic machines will follow in due time.

At the end of March 2025, Mayer & Cie. put another DMG Mori lathe into operation. It is the fourth of a total of five state-of-the-art CNC lathes that Mayer & Cie. uses in the manufacturing process.
