Knitting goes virtual: Mayer & Cie. representative Batliboi participated in cyber trade show

With the Corona pandemic prevailing, personal contacts are still very limited and travel restrictions curtail meetings with clients and partners. Therefore, Mayer & Cie.’s long-standing Indian representative explores new ways of communicating with their business relations. From 21 to 26 September 2020, Batliboi participated in the vTexShow. Textile Excellence, a textile magazine publisher, organized this virtual trade show.

“The digital exhibition was a new experience for us”, says Abhay Sidham, CEO of Batliboi. “From the outset, we were convinced that such a meeting would help us to come out of the cocoon that Covid-19 has forced us in. We felt it’s time to press the ‘refresh button’.”

Strong machine portfolio – not just virtually

The well-versed Mayer & Cie. representative considers a virtual show such as vTexShow “a good way to stay visible and to present our key products.” These included circular knitting machines of the Relanit family, particularly the Relanit 3.2 HS. It is the Relanit’s outstanding productivity, especially with elastomeric yarns, that makes them attractive. S4 2.2 and S4 3.2 are further strong machines in single jersey circular knitting. Abhay Sidham of Batliboi: “Within the last 10 years, we’ve sold around 1,000 machines of these types to discerning customers across the India.” Evaluations of the virtual fair organiser reveal that the S4 3.2 II attracted a lot of attention at the vTex Show, too. Further well-received machines were the D4 2.2 II and D4 3.2 for 8-lock-structures. Mattress ticking generally was a strong point, with machines like the OVJA 2.4 E in particular.

More circular knitting in cyberspace

Mayer & Cie. strongly supported their agent in their plans. The circular knitting machine manufacturer will also be part of a virtual trade show from 15 to 30 October 2020, the Innovate Textile + Apparel, organized by World Textile Information network.
