Global competence transfer between science and industry.
Mayer & Cie. is industrial partner to the Steinbeis Academy of Management.

Within the Steinbeis Foundation for the Promotion of Industry, the Steinbeis Academy takes on the role of a transfer centre for qualification in the fields of corporate management, marketing, globalization and new media. As part of its program, a project entitled "Growth Market China" intended to open up the Chinese market for medium-sized enterprises offers an advanced course of study for Chinese participants in which candidates can graduate with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA)". The seminars held in China and Germany are supplemented by practically-oriented project studies, meaning that the students spend a substantial part of their stay in Germany working in partner companies.

The world's leading manufacturer of circular knitting machines Mayer & Cie. has been supervising two students from China in its capacity as industrial partner to the Steinbeis Academy. Having completed their Masters theses, Messrs. Chen Zhong Quan and Wei Shi recently graduated with flying colours. After two years of intensive training, they are now able to lay claim a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

Together with Mayer & Cie., these two students executed a number of projects as part of their training in China - including a study of customer satisfaction. The knowledge gained in the course of the project work is also of particular interest to Mayer & Cie., and will be of great importance in strategic planning for Mayer's further involvement in the Chinese market.

In the light of their positive experience with the scheme, those responsible at Mayer & Cie. will be keeping open their contact with the Steinbeis Academy, in order to remain on a familiar footing with the up-and-coming generation of managers in such a highly important growth market as China.
