At the CITME 2006 held from 17 – 21 October in Beijing, Mayer & Cie. exhibited its Relanit 1.6 R and also the D4-2.2 machine from its new BASICLine series on a stand encompassing 110 sq.m. With these two ultra-modern machine models, Mayer & Cie. attracted plenty of attention at the show.
The BASICLine series introduces machines complying with the accustomed high Mayer & Cie. quality and performance standard which are designed to open up the company’s market potential: With its BASICLine, Mayer & Cie. is offering circular knitting machines for both single and double jersey production with a whole new production concept based on maximum standardization, material optimization and concentration of application scope, allowing legendary Mayer & Cie. technology to be made available with a more affordable price tag.
At the CITME, the BASICLine double jersey machine D4-2.2 was on show with a 30“ diameter and gauge E 18 producing 1:1 half plated rib knits. The D4-2.2 also produces plain interlock fabrics, interlock structures and rib structures on a polyester and cotton basis with outstanding economy. The machine on show at the CITME is highly productive, with 64 feeders and a 30“ diameter.
This is also a machine characterized by extreme operating simplicity and minimal effort. With between 1 and 4 needle tracks in the cylinder and 2 needle tracks in the dial cam, it offers outstanding flexibility. For changes of construction, complete segments can be exchanged, partially eliminating the need for cam changeover. The central stitch length adjustment also helps further simplify operation and reduces setting times.
For trouble-free operation with the very latest modern synthetic yarns, the D4-2.2 is equipped as standard with ultra-precise Mayer & Cie. ceramic yarn feeders.
To ensure crease-free takedown of modern fabrics in the BASICLine series, a special new open-width device is on offer which works with outstanding precision and reliability and without distortion.
Now offering capacity for striping with up to 12 colours in conjunction with the benefits of relative movement technology, the Relanit 1.6 R was one of the star attractions at the CITME.
Relative movement technology – a Mayer & Cie. development – has now become the accepted single jersey standard, particularly when it comes to the production of striped fabrics. The absence of any obstructions preventing direct access to the needle bed, for instance, makes this the ideal option for striping. The current trend for stripes featuring as many colours as possible prompted Mayer & Cie. to progress from 4-colour and 6-colour striping attachments to 6-colour striping attachments with added facility for producing up to 12-colour striping using two feeders. Mayer & Cie. has registered a patent for this development.
The advanced development of the company’s repeat software 2.0 simplifies the programming of both the number and width of stripes.
The Relanit 1.6 R with 12 colour striping attachment using 2 feeders and elastomer plating was on show at the CITME in Beijing with a 34“ diameter, 54 feeders and gauge E24.
