Bandung-Tex a resounding success for Mayer & Cie.
Mayer & Cie., the world’s leading manufacturer of circular knitting machines, was highly satisfied with the outcome of the Bandung-Tex from June 7 to 11, 2006 in Indonesia. Almost all the company’s existing Indonesian customer base as well as new customers took the time to visit the Mayer & Cie. stand and were quick to express their interest in the exhibits.

The new BASICLine machine, which opens up Mayer & Cie. performance to a whole new range of customers at the lower end of the price scale, was on show for the very first time in Indonesia, one of the markets with the greatest domination of Relanit machines. The BASICLine series is designed for high productivity coupled with flexibility. Precisely aimed at their own specific fields of application and produced in series, all BASICLine machines have one important factor in common: an extremely attractive price tag. These are true Mayer & Cie. products with the same claim to outstanding quality and high-tech engineering as the whole of the Mayer & Cie. product range.

At the Bandung-Tex, Mayer & Cie. exhibited the single jersey machine S4-3.2 and the double jersey machine D4-2.2.

The BASICLine single jersey machine is the S4-3.2, which supplies everything required for top-quality single jersey knit goods production, both in 2 and 4 needle structures and single jersey plated. It covers the whole range of weights customary in the apparel sector and achieves the high output levels you would typically expect in a Mayer & Cie. machine with 1.4 m/sec, corresponding to 35 revolutions per minute with a 30” diameter. The S4-3.2 is offered in diameters of 30“ to 38“ and in gauges E18 to E32.

Versatility can often be an overriding requirement in circular knitting factories. Up to 4 needle types for 3 needle positions each offer a widely versatile construction spectrum, with facility for changeover to three-thread fleece adding even greater flexibility to the S4-3.2 repertoire. The machine is fitted as standard with high-precision triple plating ceramic yarn feeders.

The D4-2.2 has everything it takes to provide top knitted fabric quality for double jersey constructions – as well as for normal and elastomer plating. As standard, the D4-2.2 comes with cams for 2 needle types in the cylinder and dial cam. And for even greater flexibility, the machine can be extended to 4 needle tracks in the cylinder. When changing to a different knitted construction, complete segments can be replaced, partially eliminating the need for cam changes. Central stitch forming adjustment also simplifies operation and reduces setting times.

To ensure trouble-free processing of even ultra-modern synthetic yarns, the D4-2.2 is fitted as standard with high-precision Mayer & Cie. ceramic yarn feeders.

A new feature developed for the BASICLine series is a new, special open-width device for crease-free takedown which prevents distortion and operates with the utmost precision and reliability.

The lively degree of interest shown and the promising talks with customers expressing a concrete intention to purchase left Mayer & Cie. optimistic of lively sales activity in the imminent future both for Relanit and BASICLine machines.

Indonesia is a market which is dominated heavily by Relanit machines. Given the outstanding success enjoyed by Mayer & Cie. Relanit machines in the country’s knitting machine factories, Mayer & Cie.is also anticipating a new surge in sales in this sector. Customer comments have confirmed Mayer & Cie. in its belief that MCT machines in general and Relanit machines in particular are an investment which quickly pays dividends and are superior to their competitors in most cases on an economic comparison.

Mayer & Cie. Group member MERZ Maschinenfabrik GmbH exhibited in Indonesia for the very first time with its MBS machine for the manufacture of seamless products – from underwear through swimming and sports fashions to medical compression articles. Here, too, the interest demonstrated by visitors was impressive, and the exhibited machine is being used in by a reference customer in Indonesia.
