The world’s market leader in the field of circular knitting machines was present at the Tüyap from February 2 – 6, 2005 on the stand of its Turkish agent Mümessillik. A total of three machines were on show, all of which met with lively interest and were judged by visitors to be the exhibition highlights of the whole fair.
Mayer & Cie. exhibited its Relanit 3.2 II – a highly productive single jersey circular knitting machine benefiting from relative movement technology with its careful yarn treatment – working with an open-width device. The frame for fabric widths up to 1905 mm with sliding doors takes up hardly any more space than a machine with conventional frame. As its special setting possibilities allow the Relanit 3.2 II to process both elastomer and cotton yarns to an outstanding degree of quality, combination with an open-width device is the ideal way to avoid fabric waste caused by creases in the fabric tube.
Also greeted as a mini sensation by visitors to the stand was the facility to produce striped fabric in up to 10 colours on a circular knitting machine. The latest striping attachments to emerge from the Mayer & Cie. development team are capable of processing up to 5 colours at one feeder, opening up scope for 10-colour striping using two feeders. Mayer & Cie. demonstrated this innovation for producing the latest trend striped fabrics in conjunction with the Relanit 1.6 R.
Wherever it is on show, it never fails to elicit amazement and incredulity: The FS 2.0 – the first fine rib machine with sinker-aided ability to hold the stitch in position automatically after a yarn breakage. Laborious, time consuming “knitting on” is a thing of the past with the FS 2.0. After a yarn breakage it is up and running again in just 5 minutes. And as with every Mayer & Cie. circular knitting machine, fact that the FS 2.0 is capable of producing highly elastic fine rib quality fabrics to address the most stringent demands is simply taken as read.
With over 600 registered visitors at its stand, Mayer & Cie. was understandably upbeat about the outcome of the show. Most visitors were naturally representing the Turkish textile industry, but Mayer & Cie. and Mümessillik were also able to welcome customers and potential punters from countries such as Bulgaria, Iran, Syria, Pakistan and Uzbekistan. The Tüyap has given rise to a healthy optimism, and Mayer & Cie. has already committed to a presence at next year’s show.
