Albstadt Bike Marathon 2004 another success for the Mayer & Cie. MTB Team
On the 17th of August at exactly 1 pm, 1,500 enthusiastic mountain bikers began the 10th annual Albstadt Bike Marathon. The 86 kilometre long course, which combines all of the Albstadt municipalities, is known for it’s scenery as well as being one of the most demanding marathon distances in Germany.
The course of the marathon consisted of 86 kilometres as well as 1600 meters of elevation through Albstadt over road, dirt and forest trails. Thanks to the audience, whose animated cheers energized the competitors, the mood in all of Albstadt was unique. Especially at the old Onstmettingen ski jump many spectators could be found this year.
For the third time in a row the MTB Team Mayer & Cie. participated, this year with thirteen enthusiastic colleagues. For the team Hans-Albert Beck, Wolfgang Müller, Michael Alber, Joachim Müller, Ramon Clavijo, Stefan Seeger, Gunter Gerstenecker, Johannes Klaszka, Marina Scheu, Hans-Jürgen Stumpp, Axel Conzelmann, Armin Müller and Markus Wolfer all started the grueling race. The best time was for the MTB Team Mayer & Cie. was accomplished by Hans-Albert Beck.
Although this year the competition was exhausting, due to the warm weather, the demanding course and some mechanical defects overall the 10th Albstadt Bike Marathon was considered a success for the MTB Team Mayer & Cie.
